History

On May 31, 1996 the Surrey Aboriginal Cultural Society (SACS) was formally registered as a non-profit charitable organization in response to an Aboriginal grassroots vision to form a cultural centre for the resurgence of Aboriginal culture, language, and teachings.

This vision encompassed the goals and objectives for a facility where the Aboriginal community will meet to enhance their cultural and economic, social well being.

The centre began in the garage of a community member and has grown to where is serves its community through a variety of programs from a large, thriving centre.
