Tiponi Girls Youth Group

The purpose of Tiponi Girls Youth Group is to provide a safe place where teen girls can interact with each other, learn their Aboriginal culture, learn valuable teachings from their Elders, take part in traditional ceremonies, volunteer, and take part in community events. It is important to Kla-how-eya that Youth have in-put in all activities and that their ideas are heard and valued.

Tiponi Girls Youth Group is for teenage girls ages 10-15. They will learn valuable teachings from their Elders, group facilitators, guest speakers, and peers. This Youth Group will consist of activities such as:

•Medicine Wheel Teachings (spiritual, emotional, physical, mental)
•Traditional Teachings from Elders (crafts, cooking, survival skills, ceremonies,feasts)
•Self-Esteem Building
•Leadership Skills
•Make-up Application Sessions (taught by local estheticians)
•Movie Nights
•Field Trips
•Camping Trip
•Development of a Kla-how-eya Youth Council
